Residents are being welcomed to have their say on Cheshire West and Chester Council’s proposals to tackle irresponsible dog owners.
The consultation asks for views on a range of proposals which could be enforced using Fixed Penalty Notices (FPN). They include:
- Dogs to be excluded from fully-enclosed children’s play areas that contain play equipment to keep children safe from the risks of dog fouling (the bacteria from dog foul can cause blindness);
- Dogs to be excluded from marked and maintained sports areas;
- Dogs on leads at the request of an authorised officer – all public spaces except forestry commission land (Only if requested by an authorised officer, not at all times)’
- Dogs on leads in cemeteries and the crematorium;
- Restrictions on the number of dogs that dog walkers can walk at any one time;
- Dog walkers to carry sufficient means to pick up their dog foul.
The consultation will also ask for opinions on the possible use of DNA registration as an alternative to issuing an FPN and ensuring town and parish councils have the power to issue FPNs on land they own or manage.
Have your say
The consultation will run until 28 April 2018. Give your views:
The outcome of the public consultation will be considered by Cabinet in Autumn 2018.
Are YOU a really nice person who’d enjoy helping us at our Rainbows or Brownies?
Can you spare an hour or so on a Monday or Friday during term time?
Sadly due to a change in one of our Leaders’ work patterns she can no longer come to our Rainbow or Brownie meetings. So we really, really, really need you to help Sheena, Brown Owl, at our Monday Brownie meetings and Wendy, Rainbow “Violet”, at our Friday Rainbow meetings so that we can all carry on having fun!
If you are aged 18 and over (there’s no upper age limit) please contact Sheena or Wendy for a chat about how often you can join us. You don’t need to commit to every week (although that would be brilliant) all we need is a really nice person who can come and “Lend a Hand” whenever you can manage it.
We promise, you’ll have as much fun as we do!
You might have been a Rainbow or Brownie once yourself – or a Mum or Grandma whose daughter has been in Rainbows or Brownies in the past – so please, please, offer to help!
Thank you, from your Rainbow and Brownie friends.
For an informal chat, please contact:
Fridays – Wendy on 07852 236 330 or by email email@example.com
Mondays – Sheena on 0151 327 7138 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org
We have been contacted by Willaston Surgery about an increasing number of people who are using the car park when they do not have an appointment there. This means that patients who are unwell/have disabilities cannot park there for appointments. They have asked that people be considerate and find alternative parking. Even if you think you will only be using a space for 5 minutes, you could be stopping someone else who really needs it. The surgery is open from 8am-6.30pm Monday to Friday and 9am-12 noon on Saturday and Sunday. Thank you for your support.
